As luck would have it, this year’s event was overcast with the threat of heavy rains later in the day. This dampened the turn out, but we did have 69 brave car owners show up and were able to collect 105 lbs. of canned food and $87 for the Food Bank. Our efforts resulted in a small profit of around $500. This year we were able to combine our meet with the AMC group and they were gracious to provide some volunteers to help run the show. They have indicated that they would like to do the same in 2017. This year’s judging was done mostly by a 5 person panel lead by Chuck Tubens. I want to thank the judges for their hard work and hope they can come back for next year. We plan to use the same format of judging to shorten the time needed to determine the winners and get the awards ready.

Our annual event is attracting some new orphan cars and this year we had a couple from Eugene attend with a 1923 Willys Knight. He brought along a display of the sliding sleeve engine that Willys was featuring at that time. It was the center of interest especially for the younger crowd. He said that he would be back in 2017 with some more of his antique vehicles. After lunch a very fast awards ceremony was held and then a very intense cloud front moved in with winds, rain and some thunder. The end result is that we finished early this year! Thank you all for helping put on this event and for attending. Phil Peters
