CANBY CRUISE IN WAITE PARK

On August 27th Phil Saunders met the group at the Oregon City Shopping Center to tour to Canby for the cruise in. He gathered all of the cars and led them to Canby. I got to the cruise-in at 6:30 to block the area for the cars. We always park in the same location. It is a nice location with a shade tree and close to the main activities. There were a total of more than 550 cars for the cruise in and they start arriving at 6:30. So it is very important that we get our spot reserved. The organizers have been very generous allowing me to block off an area for all of the Studebakers. We have been doing this for several years.

Phil arrived with his group of fourteen Studebakers at 9:00am and Ed Holbrook and I helped get the cars parked. It was a beautiful day with a lot of activities going on. This car show is one of the nicest shows I attend during the year. Phil Peters drove his Durant and took BEST OF SHOW award. I also received an award for the SUPREME STUDEBAKER for my 1963 GT Hawk. All of the people that drove their Studebakers had a good time and lots of people looking at our cars and asking questions about the Studebaker car. If you were not able to attend this year try again next year. We always have a good time. Dave Muck
